PTBA Volunteer Project at Oil Springs /April volunteer work days planned

Thanks to the lobbying efforts of Ken Eastin of Eastin Outdoors and Progressive Trail Design, Eureka Springs and the Inn of the Ozarks were fortunate enough to host the annual Members Meeting of the PTBA. Trail Builders came from as far away as Fairbanks and Ontario.

After days being holed up in convention rooms members were anixious to strut thier stuff. Despite 10 inches of snow and ice early in the week and a heavy 3 inch soaker later in the week, a good number of PTBA members and local trail users mananged to kick out a cool 4 ft. high and 10 ft. long stone turnpike and two stone bridge abutments. Many of the stones were snatched from well below the site using rigging, making for an exciting and educational work trip.  Thanks to all the PTBA members and volunteers who stuck it out through the bad weather.

Later this month PTD,  Eastin Outdoors and the Inn of the Ozarks will be hosting two trailbuilding days to finish the bridge and a trail that will connect to Black Bass Lake. April 18th and 25th. Both Sundays. Volunteers will meet at the Inn of the Ozarks parking lot at 10am.  Beverages and Lunch provided. For more info call Renko at 479-422-7654.
