The Pen “Phase 2” (Week 3)

We are making some headway despite wet conditions and many machine problems.  It should take approx. 2-3 more weeks to complete the East Side Trails, which is approx. 1.5miles.  We are all really excited about building such MTB specific trail.  It is already different in may ways from the first phase due to the fact that we have such a diverse team of freeriders, XC riders and even BMX’ers constructing this trail system.  It is a sweet balance that will result in a some unique and challenging singletrack!

A little tight, but nothin the EC13b cant handle. These things are truly amazing trailbuilding machines!

This handbuilt native stone bridge and short section of handcut singletrack took 2 of us a whole day, but the result was beautiful and gratifying!

Future drop zone dedicated to Scott Allen, a fellow freerider and beloved guy who recently passed away.  I heard the news the day we were building these drops, so I have vowed to name this alternate freeride line and series of drops after him…”Scott Allen Alley”…Peace Brother…  (There will be a DH memorial ride for Scott at the Devils Den DH course on Memorial weekend).
